Oscar Isaac To Star In Alfonso Gomez-Rejon's 'A Foreigner'

Show Me a HeroThis is how slowly the wheels of movie development sometimes turn. Way, way back in 2011, Steve Zaillian‘s Film Rites snapped up the rites to David Grann‘s New Yorker article "A Murder Foretold." It weaved the true story of a man who, gunned down in the escalating violence in Guatemala, leaves a videotape after his death implicating the president, his wife, and other close aides in his killing. The news rocked the nation, with a special prosecutor who digs deep to find the shocking truth behind the man’s murder. Compelling stuff and now the movie is finally happening.

Variety reports that Oscar Isaac is in early talks to the lead the picture, now titled "A Foreigner." Chris Terrio ("Argo," "Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice") has penned the script with Alfonso Gomez-Rejon ("Me And Earl And The Dying Girl") slated to direct. Nothing is official just yet, but both actor and director like the material and want to make it happen.

**Spoiler alert** Shooting might also be an issue since Isaac is expected to return for the next "Star Wars" movie which will take up a chunk of 2016, but let’s hope they can sort the contracts and schedules and get this made.
