Oscars 2022: Watch Best Song Winner Billie Eilish, Beyonce & Others

While ABC looks to cut live technical award speeches from the hard-working department heads, they don’t seem to be terribly concerned about the time spent on the multiple Best Song performances, which can be something many people still look forward to. Others might see that time spent could be reclaimed for the ceremony as producers keep looking for ways to shorten the runtime. No matter where you land, it’s hard to argue that the musical performances do add a little energy if comedic bits from the host/hosts fall flat on their faces.

Beyonce chose to perform her song “Be Alive” from “King Richard” outdoors, which might have been a good call for the rest of the musicians, but many did their songs on stage. Will Smith, of course, landed his second Best Actor award for the film after his altercation with Chis Rock.

Billie Eilish won for “No Time To Die,” being the third straight theme song in a row from the James Bond franchise to win a statue alongside previous winners Adele and Sam Smith. The next film will have some rather large shoes to fill; could they go for four in a row?

Other songs included Sebastián Yatra’s “Dos Oruguitas” and “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from the Best Animated Feature Film winner “Encanto.” Oh, and finally, let’s not forget “Somehow You Do,” performed by Reba McEntire and written by Diane Warren, an inspirational perseverance ballad from the Glenn Close-starring film, “Four Good Days.”
