The upcoming HBO series “The Outsider” is the latest Stephen King adaptation to hit the film and TV industry. However, unlike the other horror-focused series and films, “The Outsider” seems to take the police procedural and put a darker spin on it.
As seen in the trailer, “The Outsider” tells the story of a man that is accused of murdering a young boy. Everything seems like an open and shut case, as the accused man’s fingerprints are found all over the crime scene. However, things get thrown for a loop when video evidence reveals that the accused was actually 60 miles away at the time of the crime. As confusion sets in, the case begins to develop a supernatural aurora that leads to all sorts of potential answers to impossible questions. Obviously, considering this is a King adaptation, you had to know that there was going to be something supernatural and/or super dark at play, right?
