Remember in 2006 when Viacom chairman Sumner Redstone was mad at Tom Cruise, called him “embarrassing” and basically canceled his production deal with Paramount? Things had gotten so bad for Cruise following his jumping the couch moment on Oprah that the studio was looking to hand off the “Mission: Impossible” series to another actor and hired Jeremy Renner to possibly take the mantle. Fast forward to 2011, when “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol” was finally released, and all was forgiven. ‘Ghost Protocol’ becomes the highest grossing entry in the series by more than $100 million (nearly $700 million worldwide), and any plan for Ethan Hunt to retire became a distant memory.

And now comes "Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation." The film’ release was moved up to this summer from its originally planned fall/winter release date, with any suggestion of trouble on set disappearing into the background. Cruise is leading the team once again, but this time, they’ve been disbanded —that doesn’t stop them from tracking the mysterious folks behind The Syndicate.
A batch of new images are here, plus a featurette focusing on the motorcycle stunts in the film, all rounded out by some TV spots. ‘Rogue Nation’ arrives on July 31st.
