Netflix’s big global event, TUDUM, has launched today, giving us fresh looks at their upcoming streaming goodies. Jason Bateman and showrunner Chris Mundy have created one of Netflix’s most dependable hits with the drama “Ozark.” The series has engrossed fans and critics alike thus far. Also, the show’s third season dominated pandemic viewership.
With that said, the streamer has announced that the hit series will be ending with the following season. Now, the final season will be split into two seven-episode parts – longer than the typical 10-episode runs for the first three seasons.
In an interview with Collider last year, Bateman himself teased that the series would end sooner rather than later. So, this upcoming season is the show’s final crime spree is not much of a surprise. There is only so much the Bryde family can do.
Series regulars Laura Linney, Julia Garner, Sofia Hublitz, Skylar Gaertner, Charlie Tahan, and Lisa Emery join Bateman for the last season. The star will also serve as a director and producer as he has for the series’ entire run.
Where will the final season exactly go? Bateman has teased that the last season will have “super-sized” problems. The series has built its reputation on drama taking place in the seemingly quiet, undiscussed Ozarks region. So, the final season should be more of the same with even more stakes. Not to mention Mundy and his crew have to decide what note to end the show on.
