Paramount Moves Forward With 'School Of Horrors' By 'She's Out Of My League' Writers George Kay & Jim Field Smith

While we didn’t particularly care for “She’s Out Of My League,” aside from TJ Miller killing it all over that movie, we keep paying attention to Jim Field Smith, only because he seems to be drawn to intriguing projects such as the currently in-post-production-comedy “Butter” with Hugh Jackman and Jennifer Garner (and really, “She’s Out Of My League” had a good premise, just a poor script by Sean Anders and John Morris).

Anyway, Paramount is developing “School Of Horrors,” a new film based on a script by George Kay and Jim Field Smith that centers around “a schoolboy [whose] parents go on holiday, abandoning him in a haunted school.” It’s being described as “Home Alone” meets Hogwarts and sounds like something that will be aimed squarely at families.

It’s an intriguing premise and Paramount clearly loves it as they are aiming to get it in front of cameras next year. We’ll keep it on our radar for now and wait to see how “Butter” churns out. [Deadline] George Kay not pictured because no photos of him exist, apparently.
