Paramount Adjusts 2023/2024 Release Dates, Including New ‘A Quiet Place,’ ‘Transformers’ & ‘Ninja Turtles’ Movies

Yesterday, Paramount Pictures delayed both “Mission: Impossible 7” and “Mission: Impossible 8” films again, pushing the two action films led by Tom Cruise further down the road. Well, those now freed up “Mission: Impossible” dates now mean a domino effect for Paramount, who have decided to adjust their entire schedule following the ‘MI’ film delays.

Paramount released new dates yesterday, well-captured by Erik Davis from Fandango on Twitter, outlining the studio’s theatrical plans between 2022 and 2024.

First up, the animated homage to Mel Brooks’ comedic western “Blazing Saddles,” “Blazing Samurai” will debut on July 22, 2022. Following that announcement, Paramount revealed the Seth Rogen-produced animated “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” flick has been bumped up to August 4, 2023. The following “A Quiet Place” movie has a release date change to, but not a major one, shifting from Spring 2023 now to September 22, 2023. An untitled animated “Transformers” installment will hit theaters on July 19, 2024, and the musical comedy “Under The Boardwalk” directed by David Soren (“Turbo”) has been completely taken off the schedule.

Recently, Pig” director Michael Sarnoski was selected by the studio to replace Jeff Nichols (“Midnight Special”) after the filmmaker exited the spinoff to focus on other projects. Adding to the sci-fi horror universe created by John Krasinski. It was initially planned to drop on March 31, 2023, before the director switch-up likely meant they wouldn’t be able to finish the spinoff on time.

Paramount also released first-look images on Variety from “Blazing Samurai” that give an idea of what some of those characters will look like. Michael Cera, Samuel L. Jackson, Ricky Gervais, Geroge Takei, Michelle Yeoh, Djimon Hounsou, and Mel Brooks will lend their voices on the action-packed animated flick.
