'Percy Vs. Goliath' Trailer: Christopher Walken & Christina Ricci Take On A Farming Corporation In This New Drama

When we talk about technology and inventions, a lot of times, people think of some sort of product on “Shark Tank.” But as seen in the new film, “Percy vs. Goliath,” intellectual property created in a lab also falls under that umbrella of inventions and technology.

“Percy vs. Goliath” tells the true story of a farmer in a small town that becomes the target of one of the largest agriculture corporations in the world, Monsanto. The claim is that this aging farmer has been using seeds developed by the company for his crops for decades and he owes them a lot of money. Of course, the farmer fights back thanks to the help of a young lawyer and his community.

The film stars Christopher Walken, Zach Braff, and Christina Ricci. “Percy vs. Goliath” is directed by Clark Johnson, who is a veteran actor and filmmaker. Though he’s probably best known for his acting roles, Johnson is also a director that has helmed episodes of recent series such as “Luke Cage,” “City on a Hill,” and “Your Honor.”

Here’s the synopsis:

Academy Award® Winner Christopher Walken*, Zach Braff and Christina Ricci star in the true story of a small-town farmer taking on one of the largest agricultural and food manufacturing corporations. Percy Schmeiser (Walken), a third-generation farmer, is sued by a corporate giant for allegedly using their patented seeds. With little resources to fight the giant legal battle, Percy joins forces with up-and-coming attorney Jackson Weaver (Braff) and environmental activist Rebecca Salcau (Ricci) to fight one of the most monumental cases all the way up to the Supreme Court.
