'Pink Wall' Trailer: Jay Duplass & Tatiana Maslany Star In The Upcoming SXSW Drama

There are romantic dramas that are big on the romance and less on the drama. Then you have films that are romantic dramas in name only, as they paint a bleak picture of relationships and are sure to scare even the most confident of couples. That doesn’t make the latter any worse than the former. It just means that when you see a film that focuses on the realistic drama of an intimate adult relationship, you’re in for a rollercoaster ride of emotions. And that’s exactly what it appears audiences will get at SXSW when they watch the upcoming film “Pink Wall.”

As seen in the new trailer for “Pink Wall,” the film focuses on the six-year relationship between a man and a woman and the six moments that shaped the trajectory of their pairing. There are moments in the trailer where you see true love in the eyes of the couple. But then there are other moments when you see despair and heartache. And thankfully, first-time writer-director Tom Cullen has enlisted two very capable stars to sell those emotions on screen.

Starring in “Pink Wall” are Tatiana Maslany and Jay Duplass. Maslany is probably best known for her role as numerous clones on the hit sci-fi series “Orphan Black.” Duplass, on the other hand, might only seem like a clone, as he’s normally working alongside his brother Mark in their various indie filmmaking endeavors. Kidding aside, Jay Duplass has also made a name for himself as an actor during his run on the Amazon series “Transparent.”

Cullen is probably best known for his acting work, appearing on series like “Knightfall,” “Gunpowder,” and “Downton Abbey.” “Pink Wall” marks his first foray in the world of filmmaking, and judging solely on the trailer, it appears that he brings a definite style to the table.

“Pink Wall” will debut at this year’s SXSW Film Festival on March 9.
