'Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin' Trailer: A New Generation Of Liars Return On July 28

The final “Pretty Little Liars” season ended only five years ago, but that hasn’t stopped HBO Max from returning to the series, albeit to a new small town. In “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin,” a new generation of teens in Millwood, not the Rosewood of the original series, have to reckon with a masked killer hellbent on punishing them for their parents’ sins …as well as their own.

Here’s the official synopsis from HBO Max:

Twenty years ago, a series of tragic events almost ripped the blue-collar town of Millwood apart. Now, in present day, a disparate group of teen girls — a brand-new set of Little Liars — find themselves tormented by an unknown Assailant and made to pay for the secret sin committed by their parents two decades ago…as well as their own. In the dark, coming-of-age, horror-tinged drama Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, we find ourselves miles away from Rosewood, but within the existing Pretty Little Liars universe — in a brand-new town, with a new generation of Little Liars.

The show stars Bailee Madison, Chandler Kinney, Zaria, Malia Pyles, and Maia Reficco as the new generation of liars. “Original Sin” also stars Mallory Bechtel, Sharon Leal, Elena Goode, Lea Salonga, Eric Johnson, and Alex Aiono.

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Lindsay Calhoon Bing, part of the team behind Netflix‘s “Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina,” write and co-executive produce the series. So, no strangers to the dark teen drama in the creative department.

For fans of dark teen dramas, a guilt-tripping murderer on the loose in the “Pretty Little Liars” universe sounds like a perfect summer streamer. The show’s first three episodes premiere on HBO Max on July 28. After that, two episodes premiere on August 4 and August 11, with the last three episodes premiering on August 18.
