What makes a love story memorable? Priscilla Beaulieu saw her entire life change after meeting and later marrying Elvis Presley. While the public thought they knew the inner workings of their relationship, it was far from the dream world many fans imagined. The new film “Priscilla” offers a different perspective, adapting Priscilla Presley’s 1985 biography “Elvis And Me.” It finds an impressive director at the helm — Sofia Coppola; the acclaimed filmmaker does double duty on the project as screenwriter. Coppola’s last feature-length project was 2020’s “On The Rocks.”

Cailee Spaeny takes on the role of Priscilla Presley — the actress made a name for herself with performances in “Bad Times at the El Royale” and “Pacific Rim: Uprising.” Jacob Elordi stars as Elvis Presley; it’s an ambitious task for the rising talent, with last year’s “Elvis” earning Austin Butler an Oscar nomination. Comparisons aside, the material offers a stark contrast from Elordi’s most famous role to date — Nate Jacobs on HBO’s “Euphoria.”
The film’s official synopsis:
When teenage Priscilla Beaulieu meets Elvis Presley at a party, the man who is already a meteoric rock-and-roll superstar becomes someone entirely unexpected in private moments: a thrilling crush, an ally in loneliness, a vulnerable best friend. Through Priscilla’s eyes, Sofia Coppola tells the unseen side of a great American myth in Elvis and Priscilla’s long courtship and turbulent marriage, from a German army base to his dream-world estate at Graceland, in this deeply felt and ravishingly detailed portrait of love, fantasy, and fame.
