As seen in the trailer, “Queer” is based on the novel by William S. Burroughs and tells the story of an American expat in Mexico City who develops an intimate relationship with a fellow expat. The cast includes Daniel Craig, Drew Starkey, Lesley Manville, Jason Schwartzman, Henrique Zaga, and Omar Apollo. The film is directed by Luca Guadagnino, with a script by Justin Kuritzkes

We saw “Queer” when it debuted at this year’s Venice, and in our review, we said, “Nothing in ‘Queer’ feels egregiously incorrect or ill-considered… But for a project that purports to tie up the loose ends of a story left open-ended for several decades, something feels oddly unsettled – and not just reflective of the nebulously definable title – in this narrowed-down iteration of Guadagnino’s prior cuts.”

“Queer” arrives in theaters on November 27. You can watch the new trailer below.

Here’s the synopsis:

1950. William Lee, an American expat in Mexico City, spends his days almost entirely alone, except for a few contacts with other members of the small American community. His encounter with Eugene Allerton, an expat former soldier, new to the city, shows him, for the first time, that it might be finally possible to establish an intimate connection with somebody.
