Quibi’s Halloween Teaser Includes Looks At Mary Harron’s ‘The Expecting’ & Sam Raimi’s ‘50 States’ Season 2

Halloween is about a month away. And though the rules of trick-or-treating may have been affected by the COVID pandemic that doesn’t mean streaming services aren’t teeing up their forthcoming horror offerings. Yes, that includes Quibi, who is simultaneously looking for a buyer and also celebrating what we think is the service’s best series yet. Now, Quibi is hyping up its horror series, including more of Sam Raimi’s “50 States of Fright” anthology and a new series from “American Psycho” director, Mary Harron.

As seen in the new teaser for the October scares coming to Quibi, we get a first real glimpse at Season 2 of Sam Raimi’s ‘50 States.’ The anthology series, which includes one short horror story from each of the US states continues its tour of America by covering Colorado, Iowa, Missouri, and Washington. The casts of these shorts include Rory Culkin, Lulu Wilson, Christina Ricci, Jacob Batalon, Victoria Justice, Taissa Farmiga, and Ron Livingston. And the filmmakers that Raimi brought on to helm episodes include Scott Beck & Bryan Woods, Lee Cronin, Daniel Goldhaber, and Cate Devaney.

The second major highlight of Quibi’s Halloween offerings includes “The Expecting,” which is a new series from director Mary Harron. The series stars AnnaSophia Robb, Rory Culkin, and Mira Sorvino and tells the story of a pregnancy gone wrong involving a waitress and possibly a conspiracy. Harron, of course, is best known for helming “American Psycho,” as well as TV series such as “The L Word,” “Six Feet Under,” “Big Love,” and “Alias Grace.”

“50 States of Fright” begins showing new episodes on September 28, while “The Expecting” will begin its daily run on October 5.

When a down-on-her-luck waitress suffers disturbing effects from her pregnancy, she embarks on a dark journey to uncover the potential conspiracy surrounding it.
