When you think of a classic fairytale, you think of the prince coming to rescue the princess and being happily married. However, not all fairytales have happy endings. From Vietnamese-born action filmmaker director Le-Van Kiet, “The Princess” takes all you know about classic fairytale stories and turns it on its head. The R-rated movie, overseen by 20th Century Studios, will feature Joey King playing the princess. King is known for her roles as Gypsy Rose Blanchard in “The Act” (2019) and “The Kissing Booth” (2018). Kiet is known for the martial arts crime-thriller “Furie” and “The Ancestral.”

“The Princess” will be produced by Neal H. Moritz (“Fast and The Furious” Franchise), Toby Jaffe (“Total Recall”), and Derek Kolstad (“John Wick”).
Here’s the official synopsis:

With her scorned, vindictive suitor intent on taking her father’s throne, the princess must protect her family and save the kingdom.
