‘Reacher’ Season 2 Trailer: Prime Video’s Action Hit Returns With A New Mystery In December

Reacher” is a throwback series. No, it doesn’t take place in the past—it is very much a modern setting. But if you watch it and are reminded of the very best ‘80s/‘90s R-rated action films, then you’re not wrong either. It’s a series that is unlike anything else going right now, and thus, it seems to have found a loyal fanbase eager to see it return for a new season.

And as seen in the trailer for “Reacher” Season 2, the show is finally ready for its comeback. Starring Alan Ritchson as the title character, “Reacher” follows the story of a man who just wants to have a quiet life, but he seems to always find himself pulled into a new town with a new mystery. And wouldn’t you know it? These mysteries typically involve Reacher bashing skulls and making little jokes. It’s wonderful.

Yes, “Reacher” is based on the Lee Child book series, and a couple of those stories have been previously adapted by Christopher McQuarrie and Tom Cruise. But make no mistake, Prime Video’s “Reacher” is a very different beast than what McQuarrie and Cruise cooked up, and for the better. This is a fun series that never takes itself too seriously, even though it definitely does have plenty of drama. It’s a show that you can turn on, escape a little, and just be overjoyed at watching brutal violence, fun jokes, and memorable characters.

So, if you can’t tell by now, I wholly recommend “Reacher” and now’s the perfect time to catch up on Prime Video before Season 2 debuts on December 15. You can watch the trailer below.

Here’s the synopsis:

Reacher is pulled from his vagabond life by a coded message informing him that a member of the 110th – his elite group of Army Special Investigators – has been murdered. He and some of his former military cohorts reunite to investigate and soon realize the case is bigger than they ever could have imagined.
