Got a Tip?

Real Life Black Sabbath Guitarist To Soundtrack Actual ‘Black Sabbath’ Film (Band Members Sold Separately)

Actual Black Sabbath guitarist-songwriter, Tony Iommi, has signed on to compose the music to Next Films’ soon to be horror film, “Black Sabbath.”

Mike Fleiss (producer on 2006’s ‘Texas Chainsaw’ remake/”Hostel” and “Hostel II”) has created the new company to generate genre pictures as well as develop international properties and of course, continue the tradition of remakes.

“Black Sabbath” is planned to be a horror franchise and will use the band’s name as a jumping off point. It is said that the productions will have nothing at all to do with Iommi’s ex-band.

This news arrives just one month in the wake of Ozzy Osbourne (former frontman for the band) suing Iommi over the rights and royalties associated with the Black Sabbath name (MTV reality show residuals apparently weren’t enough). It was stated that Ozzy wanted the rights to the name be split between all members of the heavy metal band.

Could buying out iconic names and phrases be a new trend in the modern B movie cinema? Lets all keep our fingers crossed for the dungeons n’ dragons, space action-er, “RUSH,” with music, lyrics and long winded drum solos by Neil Peart to be next in line. [Variety/Guardian] – Alexander Sablow

Extra credit: did you know that Tony Iommi had the tips of his fret hand fingers cut off in a sheet metal factory accident when he was 17-years-old, yet dude still had the most smokin’ riff vibrato ever? Let’s see you do that.
