As seen in the final trailer for the film, “Renfield,” as the title suggests, follows the story of Dracula’s servant as he reckons with the mental anguish stemming from a 90-year relationship with an undead monster. In addition to the hilarity and absurdity of that situation is a healthy dose of incredibly gory action.
The film stars Nicholas Hoult as the title character. He’s joined by Awkwafina, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Ben Schwartz, Adrian Martinez, Brandon Scott Jones, and Nicolas Cage as Dracula. It’s the latter actor who seems to be drumming up the most excitement, as folks are dying to see what Cage comes up with for his take on the classic monster. “Renfield” is directed by Chris McKay, who previously helmed films such as “The Tomorrow War” and “The LEGO Batman Movie.”
“Renfield” arrives in theaters on April 14. You can watch the trailer below.
