Rian Johnson Releases Audio Commentary For ‘Knives Out’ To Encourage One More Trip To The Theater

Hey, guess what?! We have Rian Johnson news that doesn’t involve “Star Wars!” Hooray!

Thanks to a recent social media post by the filmmaker, it appears that Johnson has an official audio commentary that is available for his new film “Knives Out.” Why would he release an audio commentary for a film that is still in theaters? Obviously, so you’ll fork out money for another ticket this holiday season and enjoy the whodunnit with your headphones on.

“I’m thrilled to announce the #KnivesOut in-theater commentary! Yes, now you can enjoy another round of whodunnit goodness with me squawking in your ear. Did this on ‘Bloom’ & ‘Looper,’ happy to try it again,” the director tweeted.

With “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” (damn it, couldn’t escape mentioning it once…) and “Cats” being pretty big disappointments for many, there are far worse things you could do at the theater this weekend than pay to watch “Knives Out” one more time with the beautiful voice of Johnson in your ear. Plus, in an era dominated by huge event films, why not support a modestly-budgeted film that doesn’t have any franchise aspirations (though, we’d be amped for more Benoit Blanc films) and isn’t the result of some IP acquisition?

“Knives Out” features an incredible cast featuring Jamie Lee Curtis, Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Michael Shannon, Christopher Plummer, Lakeith Stanfield, Katherine Langford, and Toni Collette. As mentioned, the film is written and directed by Rian Johnson, marking his first film since “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.”
