Ridley Scott & Michael Mann Talk 'All The Money In The World'

All The Money In The World” has weathered a remarkable amount of controversy in the last couple of months — Kevin Spacey, the salary war between Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Williams — but rising above it all is Christopher Plummer who scored an Oscar nomination for his last minute work. However, another part of the conversation surrounding the movie has been the efficiency with which director Ridley Scott shot the picture. Not only did he start production and have the movie ready for cinemas in less than a year, he also embarked on the reshoots with Plummer just weeks before the film’s release.

It all speaks to Scott’s veteran skills as a craftsman, and there’s perhaps no better person to chat him up about the picture than Michael Mann. The pair both know the technical side of their medium inside and out, and have embraced digital filmmaking from a very early stage. Scott and Mann sat down on December 30th for a DGA Q&A in Los Angeles and the full conversation has now arrived. For auteur buffs, this is certainly must-listen material, as they two old pros dive inside the making of “All The Money In The World.”
