“The stakes are all, or nothing with this film,” director J.J Abrams recently told EW about the final “Star Wars” chapter, ‘The Rise Of Skywalker.’ Or at least, the last chapter of this nine-episode story centering on the Skywalker family. What is this movie about? Well, we don’t know much, and that’s by design. “The [trailers] that have come out are scratching the surface of what the movie is,” the director said. So, we know Rey and Kylo Ren face off again, the Resistance looks like it’s building its forces again after being decimated in ‘The Last Jedi,’ Palpatine returns. We also know this has to be the end of the story for General Leia Organa given Carrie Fisher‘s death. Other than that, much of it is a mystery, but Lucasfilm, in anticipation of the film coming out in less than a month, has released the first clip from the movie.
Here’s what we have for an official synopsis, of course, it doesn’t really have details:
Lucasfilm and director J.J. Abrams join forces once again to take viewers on an epic journey to a galaxy far, far away with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the riveting conclusion of the seminal Skywalker saga, where new legends will be born, and the final battle for freedom is yet to come.
