Got a Tip?

Robert Pattinson Cast Alongside Jennifer Lawrence in Lynne Ramsay’s ‘Die My Love’ Thriller

Already one of the most revered directors on the planet—hence the way A-list stars seem to flock to her constantly—Scottish filmmaker Lynne Ramsay’s “Die My Love” is already one of the year’s most anticipated films, for whatever year it is ready. Already set to star Jennifer Lawrence, the movie got another immense A-list casting boost with the inclusion of Robert Pattinson.

Deadline’s report includes the new detail of Martin Scorsese throwing his weight around as a producer. Described as a thriller but also a “really f*cking funny” one, according to a recent Lawrence interview, “Die My Love” is set in a remote, forgotten rural area. The story follows a mother who struggles to maintain her sanity as she battles with psychosis. Lawrence will play the mother, but it’s unknown what role Pattinson will take, but presumably whatever role is the second lead.

According to a recent report in Canada’s CTV News in Calgary, “Die My Love” is set to shoot later this summer in the province of Alberta, so more casting should be revealed soon.

Ramsay is perhaps best known for her work directing the 2011 drama “We Need to Talk About Kevin,” starring Tilda Swinton, John C. Reilly, and Ezra Miller, or 2017’s “You Were Never Really Here,” starring Joaquin Phoenix. Despite being highly in demand and several projects always on the development burners, Ramsay has only directed four feature films since 1999 and her debut, “Ratcatcher.”

Another film seems to be coming before “To Die My Love,” however. Ramsay revealed in a Variety interview last year that her movie “Polaris,” starring Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara, finished production in the summer of 2023. She also suggested the film title could change to “Dark Slides.”

So, while there are no release dates for either, if things go to plan, we could potentially have a Ramsay film in 2025 and 2026, which could possibly make up for some lost time between projects. Fingers crossed.
