Robert Pattinson Says Christopher Nolan’s Next Movie Is “Massive, Crazy” & "The Length Of 3 Movies"

When it was announced that filmmaker Christopher Nolan was beginning to prep his latest project for production, there were no real hints about what the plot would be, other than everyone using words like “big,” “epic,” “ambitious,” etc… Those adjectives are nothing new for the man who gave audiences “Dunkirk,” “Interstellar,” “Inception,” and “The Dark Knight” Trilogy. But when you hear star Robert Pattinson describe the film, it’s clear that maybe these descriptors are more accurate for this upcoming film than any of Nolan’s previous works.

Speaking to AZ Central, Pattinson, who joins Elizabeth Debicki and John David Washington in the cast of Nolan’s latest, untitled film, wasn’t able to divulge any secrets or plot points, but definitely gave a sense at the scale of the film.

“Working with these important directors makes you feel more secure in the choices you’re making,” Pattinson said. “Like, I’m doing a big movie with Christopher Nolan after this. It’s the craziest thing I’ve seen in years. It’s the length of three movies.”

Obviously, we’re not expecting Nolan to produce a film that is six hours long. Even though we’re sure it would be one of the most beautiful, expertly crafted six-hour productions in history, it’s more likely that Pattinson is describing the scale and ambition of the film.

Nolan has always been a filmmaker with very strong ideas and lots of them. Clearly, we haven’t read the script for his next film, but for Pattinson, it’s probably overwhelming to read something of that scale and it could very well feel like three movies’ worth of content.

Of course, perhaps we’re wrong and Nolan is about to film a back-to-back-to-back trilogy of films. But we’re going to assume that’s not the case.

In another interview, this time during a Q&A with the Film Society of Lincoln Center, the actor was once again asked about what we can expect with Nolan’s film. Pattinson wasn’t able to say anything other than “massive,” repeated over and over again.

Well, hopefully, we’ll learn more about the film, even if it’s just a title, soon enough, as Nolan’s latest is set to begin production in the weeks to come and hit theaters on July 17, 2020.
