Got a Tip?

Robert Pattinson Will Play Batman “As Many Times As People Want To See It” & Would At Least Like A Trilogy

Robert Pattinson is just weeks away from debuting his version of Bruce Wayne, aka Batman, to the world in Matt Reeves’ upcoming film, “The Batman.” While early box office predictions have this film doing really well (obviously), there are still no official plans for a sequel or more stories with Pattinson’s version of the character. But if the actor has anything to say about it, there’s plenty more where that came from.

Speaking to Fandango about the future of the character, Robert Pattinson showed his enthusiasm for the character and the franchise, saying he doesn’t have a specific timetable for how long he’ll play Batman. That said, as long as people are excited about it, he’ll come back.

“I’m down to do it as many times as people want to see it,” Pattinson revealed. “I’ve talked to Matt about the idea of doing a trilogy and that would be wonderful. I really, really enjoyed the process, and it’s such a fun character to play. And yeah, that’d be lovely.”

Obviously, there’s more to signing a major star for a lengthy contract filled with superhero films than just fan excitement. However, you have to assume that if “The Batman” does well financially (and decently with critics), we could be seeing another trilogy of Caped Crusader films in short order. Warner Bros. seems to expect the best, as the studio is already working on two spinoff HBO Max series that will be connected to “The Batman.” So, if that’s an indication, it would appear Pattinson’s version of the character will be canon for a long while.

That is, unless the film is crap and no one enjoys it. (Honestly, what are the odds of that? Zero to none?)

“The Batman” hits theaters on March 4.
