While the school is out on whether Charlie Cox‘s Daredevil is going to appear in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” (an online theory that caught fire when it was revealed a soft-reboot of The Hand was confirmed for the sequel) it looks like Jon Bernthal‘s Punisher wasn’t going to be the only other character from the Netflix universe showing up, as Rosario Dawson has revealed that she was once part of the movie but didn’t make the final version.
Dawson appeared on a panel at GalaxyCon Raleigh in North Carolina this weekend and revealed she had shot a scene reprising the Claire Temple role (also known as Night Nurse in the comic books) for director Destin Daniel Cretton, who had crossed over in a bunch of those shows, patching up the superheroes.

“I even shot a scene in the new ‘Spider-Man’ movie, but I got cut out, I know,” Dawson said (via a fan post on social media by @jpw_mp4) of her near participation in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.”
Unclear why the scene was cut, but we wouldn’t be entirely shocked now that she’s wrapped on Season 2 of her “Star Wars” spinoff series “Ahsoka” that showing up in “Daredevil: Born Again” Season 3 wouldn’t be entirely surprising to us. We’ll have to wait to see who else might be showing up in the fourth Spidey romp, as we suspect that Sony and Marvel are gearing up for “Spider-Man 5” and beyond, so plenty of room for a team-up with various characters down the line such as Cox’s Daredevil, Miles Morales, or the MCU’s new version of Wolverine (Logan and Parker have crossed paths in the comics).
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” hits theaters next week, and we’ll be very curious to see how audiences react to the movie.
