Roseanne Barr Says She's "Been Offered So Many Things" And Might Return To TV Soon

It’s hard to know if Roseanne Barr is sincere or thinks the world is really stupid. Honestly, it’s probably a bit of both. After the tweets that ended her incredibly popular sitcom revival last month, the comedian has been releasing statements saying how sorry she is and how the tweets were taken out of context. Then you look at her Twitter account and see that little has changed, except maybe she’s using more family-friendly language to insult people and spread conspiracy theories and #fakenews.

So, when she appeared on the recent podcast of “America’s Rabbi” Shmuley Boteach to talk about her firing and how she swears she’s not a racist or anti-Semite, it’s hard to know if this is a woman honestly trying to save her career with sincere regret or if she’s just saying what she thinks everyone wants to hear. Regardless of the intent, according to Barr, she’s already getting offers to come back to TV.

“Inside every bad thing is a good thing waiting to happen, and I feel very excited because I’ve already been offered so many things, and I almost already accepted one really good offer to go back on TV and I might do it. But we’ll see,” Barr said during the podcast.

Whatever she’s been offered, it would be hard to believe that it’s on the same level as her titular sitcom, which was the biggest show for ABC. And clearly, it won’t be the newly announced spin-off series that will star John Goodman and Sara Gilbert, for which Barr had to forego any monetary compensation. Perhaps, Fox News is looking for their latest pundit to yell at viewers and tell them what to think? But I digress.

She continues to explain that comparing a woman of color to an ape was not racist and that this is all one big misunderstanding. “I never would have wittingly called any black person . . . a monkey. I just wouldn’t do that. I didn’t do that. And people think that I did that, and it just kills me,” she said. “I’ve made myself a hate magnet.”

While she does admit to doing this to herself, the idea that somehow the public misconstrued her controversial tweet saying, “muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj.” According to Barr, this is in no way was a racially-inspired tweet. Okay, sure.

The truth is, no matter if Barr is as horrible as she seems or if this is all just a misunderstanding, we’re bound to see Barr on our TV screens sooner or later.
