Rosie Huntington-Whitely Officially Confirmed For 'Transformers 3,' Beats Out Sir Ben Kingsley

Yes, everyone pretty much knew this was a foregone conclusion for about a week now, but a Victoria’s Secret model can now add the word “Actress” to her resumé as Michael Bay’s official site has confirmed and welcomed Rosie Huntington-Whitely to “Transformers 3.” The actress replaces Megan Fox who left the production, and beats out seasoned thespian Sir Ben Kingsley who lobbied for the role with his own audition tape (which you can see below).

Victoria’s Secret let the cat out of the bag at the end of May by posting a congratulations video to Huntington-Whitely online. Will there be cross promotional Transformers-esque lingerie in the works? Nerds can dream (but they would have to get a girlfriend first, right?). You can see the Victoria’s Secret ad below along with two versions of the ad “A Thousand Fantasies” directed by Michael Bay. This is pretty much our scantily-clad women quota for the next while so enjoy it while it lasts.

“Transformers 3” is already in front of cameras and will hit theaters on July 1, 2011.
