Got a Tip?

Rumor: Original Replicant From ‘Blade Runner’ To Appear In ‘Blade Runner 2049’

Between now and the release of “Blade Runner 2049” this fall, director Denis Villeneuve, the cast, and Warner Bros. are going to playing that very delicate game of talking up the movie without giving away any of its secrets. All we really know is that Ryan Gosling is the blade runner for a new generation, who has to seek out Harrison Ford‘s Deckard. Other than that, the story is under lock and key. However, it looks like Ford might not be the only ingredient to surface from the original 1982 film.

Take the source for what it’s worth, but according to The Terminator Fans (via ComingSoon), a replicant from “Blade Runner” will be making some kind of appearance in ‘2049.’ The twist here is that the appearance will be done using digital CG, the same kind that resurrected Grand Moff Tarkin for “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” and made Arnold Schwarzenegger look young again for that Terminator v Terminator fight in “Terminator Genisys.”

Of course, which replicant remains to be seen. Rutger Hauer’s Roy Batty, Daryl Hannah’s Pris, and Sean Young’s Rachael are all viable options I suppose, while there’s already wild theories being thrown around that Harrison Ford himself could be digitally de-aged for some kind of plot twist. But again, who knows, and this entire rumor could just be bunk too. But if you have an idea, let us know below.

“Blade Runner 2049” opens on October 6th.
