'Run' Trailer: Sarah Paulson Is The Clingy, Homeschooling Mom From Hell

As the darling of “American Horror Story,” Sarah Paulson is no stranger to the horror genre. Since Jessica Lange’s departure, she’s essentially taken over the mantle as its star. The film focuses on the story of Diane (Paulson) and her daughter Chloe (Kiera Allen). Just like the actress who plays her, Chloe is confined to a wheelchair. Due to its anthology format, Paulson has played a variety of vastly different characters for AHS. She’s played everything from a medium to a witch to a set of conjoined twins. But one thing she did not get much practice on AHS was playing the villain. It seems like “Run” is setting her up for the chance to flex her villainous muscles.

Aneesh Chaganty, writer and director of “Searching,” is at the helm for this two-hander. “Searching” was exclusively told through computer and phone screens. That angle, along with its fascinating premise and impressive performances, made it a pretty unforgettable film. We’ll be anxious to see what Chagantry has up his sleeve this time, but he’s set a pretty high standard for himself.

Here’s a brief synopsis for “Run”: A homeschooled teenager begins to suspect her mother is keeping a dark secret from her.
