George C. Wolfe‘s biopic stars Domingo as Bayard Rustin, the famous Civil Rights leader who helped plan Martin Luther King Jr’s 1963 March on Washington.
Here’s an official synopsis for “Rustin,” courtesy of Netflix:
Rustin is the critically acclaimed film from director George C. Wolfe, starring Colman Domingo as Bayard Rustin. Architect of 1963’s momentous March on Washington, Rustin challenged authority and never apologized for who he was, but was forgotten despite making history. Rustin spotlights the man who, alongside Martin Luther King Jr., dared to imagine a different world and inspired a movement.
Along with Domingo, “Rustin” also stars Chris Rock, Glynn Turman, Jeffrey Wright, and Audra McDonald. The film also stars Aml Ameen, CCH Pounder, Michael Potts, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph.
Wolfe directs a script by Julian Breece and Dustin Lance Black. Wolfe also leads producers with Tonia Davis and Bruce Cohen.
“Rustin” gets a limited theatrical run on November 3 before it hits Netflix on November 17. Watch a trailer for the film below.
