The world has been inundated with “prestige” dramas, as streamers and networks snatch up A-list filmmakers and major stars to appear in a huge swatch of limited series that have been arriving over the past several years. However, there’s prestige and then there’s prestige. And though the term has been watered down over the years, there’s no denying the incredible prestige that is attached to HBO’s upcoming “Scenes from a Marriage” limited series.

As seen in the trailer, “Scenes from a Marriage” is the new HBO limited series that is based on the Ingmar Bergman series/film of the same name and stars Jessica Chastain and Oscar Isaac as a married couple as they go through all the ups and downs that come with that type of relationship. The love, the hate, the desire, and perhaps even a possible split are all fodder for the new drama series.
So, to recap, there’s HBO releasing the series (still the gold-standard for TV dramas), there are two of the biggest stars in the world in leading roles (Chastain and Isaac), and the series is based on one of the most acclaimed series/films in modern history (from none other than Bergman). And to make it even more exciting, ‘Scenes’ is written and directed by Hagai Levi, one of the co-creators of Showtime’s award-winning drama series, “The Affair.”
