‘School Of Rock’ Celebrates Its 20th Anniversary With Collector’s SteelBook [Win A Copy In Our Giveaway]

Plenty of comedy and coming-of-age films are set in a classroom, some with troublesome students and others with reluctant teachers. These types of movies, especially in the early 2000s, were commonplace; however, few have stood the test of time, still hold their own, and have been enjoyed by the younger generations two decades later like “School of Rock” does.

“School of Rock” hit theatres on October 3, 2003, a full year before Aaron Samuels asked Cady Heron what day it was, opening at number one at the box office, leading Jack Black to skyrocket into stardom and inspiring an entire generation to “stick it” to “the man.” 

The film sees Black as Dewey Finn, an eccentric guitarist with delusions of fame who is kicked out of his band and desperate for work. Desperate enough to pose as a substitute teacher and turn a class of high-achievers into rockers. While we can’t believe it, it has been 20 years since Miranda Cosgrove posed the question, “Are you going to teach us anything, or are we just going to sit here?” so it’s only right to celebrate. 

The universally acclaimed film has been adapted for the stage, adapted for television, and enjoyed a 10th-anniversary event. To mark this milestone, Paramount Home Entertainment is releasing a 20th anniversary, collectible, limited-edition Blu-ray SteelBook. 

This SteelBook includes access to a digital copy of the film and nearly an hour of bonus content, including commentary with Black and Director Richard Linklater, commentary with the kids, a music video, MTV’s Diary of Jack Black, and more!
