Disney has been going back and raiding its animated library for IP to turn into live-action productions. The folks behind the ‘Scott Pilgrim’ franchise have decided to do it the other way, taking the cast from the beloved live-action film and make an animated adaptation of the source material. What you get when you do that is “Scott Pilgrim Takes Off,” which is coming to Netflix this fall.
As seen in the teaser for “Scott Pilgrim Takes Off,” the animated series borrows the style of the original graphic novels and the cast of the live-action film to create some sort of perfect synergy of both. You get an eight-episode series that follows the story of hapless Scott as he navigates his early-20s filled with band practice, new love, and massive video game-inspired battles.
