Everybody’s favorite stoner/movie star/writer, Seth Rogen, talked to Collider this weekend about his rumored involvement in and thoughts regarding the latest sequel in the ‘Ghostbusters’ franchise. “It’s hard to imagine that would be good, isn’t it? I mean just as a movie fan I am the first guy to be skeptical of that. It sounds like a terrible idea when you first hear it.”
Rogen didn’t stop there, “At fist hearing it sounds like the worst idea ever. I dunno. Maybe. I mean, that would have to be one motherfucking good script.” It is also pretty unlikely Rogen will be appearing in the film since he basically said he is such a big star he can choose to do anything he fucking wants, “It depends on how bad the script was. There is a point where it’s so bad it’s really easy to say no. I have enough insulation around me now that I don’t have to say anything.”
Even though
Bill Murray has expressed lukewarm feelings about the film, we are on Rogen’s side. It is going to be impossible to capture the dry, off-handed greatness of the first film. At this point ‘Ghostbusters 3′ is just going to be a step above the vine-swinging ridiculousness that was Stephen Spielberg’s shit-stain (better known as “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’).
