‘Six Triple Eight’ Teaser: Kerry Washington Stars In Tyler Perry’s WWII Women’s Army Corps Drama

Tyler Perry might be known for the ‘Madea’ film series and similarly clownish comedies, but lately, the filmmaker has been leaning towards more serious work and dramas. Following 2022’s “A Jazzman’s Blues,” Perry’s directed three films that will have come out before 2024 is over: the legal thriller “Mea Culpa,” the drama thriller “Divorce In Black” and now, the WWII drama “The Six Triple Eight.”

Based on a 2019 WWII History magazine article by Kevin M. Hymel, “The Six Triple Eight” showcases the contributions of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, an all-black and all-female battalion, in World War II.
