Let’s be honest, over the course of his legendary career, Gary Oldman has proven that he is almost incapable of turning in a bad performance. On that merit alone, we couldn’t be more excited for the upcoming series, “Slow Horses.”

As seen in the trailer for “Slow Horses,” the new series follows the story of a ragtag group of misfit MI5 agents who are relegated to the Slough House. While here, they’re not expected to do much of anything and definitely not expected to become major players in the world of espionage. The series stars Oldman as the crotchety leader of the group who probably expects less from this group of people than anyone else.
Joining Gary Oldman in the cast are Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Olivia Cooke, Saskia Reeves, Dustin Demri-Burns, Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung, Paul Higgins, Freddie Fox, Chris Reilly, Steve Waddington, Paul Hilton, Antonio Aakeel, Peter Judd, and Jonathan Pryce. The series is directed by James Hawes.
“Slow Horses” arrives on Apple TV+ on April 1. You can watch the trailer below.
Here’s the synopsis:
“Slow Horses” is a darkly humorous espionage drama that follows a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping ground department of MI5 known un-affectionately as Slough House. Oldman stars as ‘Jackson Lamb,’ the brilliant but irascible leader of the spies, who end up in Slough House due to their career-ending mistakes as they frequently find themselves blundering around the smoke and mirrors of the espionage world.
