'Slut In A Good Way' Trailer: Three Women Throw Caution To The Wind And Explore Freedom For The First Time

“Am I a slut in a bad way?” You hear Charlotte ask her friends in the first trailer for the upcoming film “Slut in a Good Way.” They tell her, no that she is a slut in a good way… whatever that means.

It would appear that the definition of the title is going to be explained over the course of the film, as Charlotte finds herself exploring her sexuality in the wake of a messy breakup. She’s joined by her two friends Megane, a cynical anti-love anarchist, and Aube, a virgin who dreams of true love. “Slut in a Good Way” follows the exploits of these three girls as they experience love at the Toy Depot.

The film, which has been compared to “Lady Bird,” isn’t the typical coming of age story. Where coming of age typically refers to a transition between childhood and adulthood; based on the trailer, “Slut in a Good Way” seems to lack that transition. It seems, however, that “Slut in a Good Way” highlights the ups and downs of being a teenage girl. The trailer shows us heartbreak, drama, and teenagers’ lack of understanding of the consequences of their actions.

The film, which is directed by  Sophie Lorain, is shot entirely in black-and-white and stars Marguerite Bouchard, Romane Denis, Rose Adam, and Alex Godbout.

“Slut in a Good Way,” will be released March 22, 2019.

Here’s the synopsis:

Following in the footsteps of classic independent films like Clerks and To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, Slut in a Good Way follows three teenage girls exploring their first taste of freedom: Charlotte, the recently heartbroken, Megane, the anti-love anarchist, and Aube, a virgin who dreams of love — all three smitten by the guys at the “Toy Depot.” After applying for their first part-time job at the store during this one fateful summer, the three girls experience for the very first time what it is like to make their own decisions and their resulting consequences.
