Snakes, Dancing & More: New Images From ‘The Campaign’ With Will Ferrell & Zach Galifianakis

nullAround this time last year, we were gearing up for another kind of political movie with George Clooney's "Ides of March." It had a fancy Venice festival premiere lined up and an awards-ready fall release date and…well, "The Campaign" isn't quite like that movie. At all. Instead of Clooney and Ryan Gosling squaring off, we've got Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis, and following the recent restricted trailer, the studio has dropped a batch of new pics from the flick hoping you'll vote with your dollars in a couple of weeks.

Directed by Jay Roach ("Meet the Parents," "Game Change"), the film follows long-term congressman Cam Brady (Ferrell) who commits a major public gaffe before an upcoming election, causing a pair of ultra-wealthy CEOs plot to put up a rival candidate and gain influence over their North Carolina district. Their man: naïve Marty Huggins (Galifianakis), director of the local tourism center. At first, Marty appears to be the unlikeliest possible choice but, with the help of his new benefactors' support, a cutthroat campaign manager and his family's political connections, he soon becomes a contender who gives the charismatic Cam plenty to worry about.

You can feel the comedic political smarm all through the pics — particularly from a greasy looking Dylan McDermott — and we'll see if this race is worth tuning in to on August 10th.nullnullnullnullnullnullnullnullnullnullnullnullnullnullnullnullnullnullnullnullnull
