Some French Dudes Are Going To Try And Make A Period Based 3D Movie For $5 Million With Laetitia Casta

For their debut feature film, the French directing team of Pascal Sid and Julien Lacombe are certainly swinging for the fences.

Variety reports the duo have enlisted model/actress Laetitia Casta to star in their forthcoming suspense film “Behind The Walls.” The 3D fantasy film takes place in 1922 and centers on “a young novelist who moves to a creepy village to write a book and falls victim to terrifying hallucinations and nightmares.” There is no word yet on just how they will achieve both a period film and dazzling 3D effects with just $5 million. Maybe $5 million goes much further in France than it does on this side of the ocean? It’s safe to assume the 3D effects will be run through some kind of post-production process, and perhaps they’ll rummage through some attics for the period gear.

The film is slated to be released in the early part of 2011.
