'Somebody I Used To Know': Alison Brie Stars In New Romantic Comedy Directed By Dave Franco

What causes you to change your heart or mind? A TV producer finds herself confronting those aspects in the upcoming film “Somebody I Used To Know.” Alison Brie stars as the ambitious but flawed Ally, whose life takes an unexpected turn. Re-discovering her first love and the woman he’s about to marry only complicates her views about success and life.

It’s a unique project for Brie — pairing her with her husband, Dave Franco. The actor directs from a script co-written by the couple. This talented pair has also brought in a number of notable cast members, including Jay EllisKiersey ClemonsDanny PudiJulie HagertyHaley Joel Osment, and Sam Richardson.

The film’s official synopsis:

Workaholic TV producer Ally (Alison Brie) faces a major professional setback that sends her running to the comforts of her hometown. She spends a whirlwind evening reminiscing with her first love Sean (Jay Ellis) and starts to question everything about the person she’s become. Things only get more confusing when she discovers Sean is getting married to Cassidy (Kiersey Clemons), whose confidence and creative convictions remind Ally of who she used to be. Directed by Dave Franco and written by Franco & Alison Brie, SOMEBODY I USED TO KNOW is an unconventional love story about three people who unexpectedly help each other re-discover who they really are, where they came from, and where they’re going.
