Sure, HBO is breaking all sorts of records and gaining millions and millions of viewers with massively expensive shows like “House of the Dragon” and “The Last of Us,” but the premium network is still killing it with more under-the-radar offerings such as “Somebody Somewhere.”

As seen in the new trailer for “Somebody Somewhere” Season 2, the series picks up after Season 1 and shows how life is going for new roommates, Sam and Joel. These two lonely souls have found each other and are just trying to desperately find their place in the world while navigating life in small-town Kansas.

Joining that duo in the cast are Mary Catherine Garrison, Jane Brody, Murray Hill, Mercedes White, Kailey Albus, Meighan Gerachis, Tim Bagley, Jennifer Mudge, and Barbara Robertson. The series is produced and co-created by Hannah Bos and Paul Thureen.
Season 2 of “Somebody Somewhere” debuts on HBO on April 23. You can watch the trailer below.
Here’s the synopsis:
From Mighty Mint, Duplass Brothers Productions, and creators and executive producers Hannah Bos and Paul Thureen, the series follows Sam (played by Everett), a true Kansan on the surface, but, beneath it all, struggling to fit the hometown mold. Grappling with loss and acceptance, singing is Sam’s saving grace and leads her on a journey to discover herself and a community of outsiders who don’t fit in but don’t give up, showing that finding your people, and finding your voice, is possible. Anywhere. Somewhere. Season two reminds us that families are hard, even the fun ones. Sam and Joel (Jeff Hiller) have settled into a comfy routine. But nothing stays the same forever.
