After twelve years, Robert Rodriguez has a new installment of his “Spy Kids” series ready to premiere on Netflix. And “Spy Kids: Armageddon” isn’t just a follow-up to 2011’s “Spy Kids: All The Time In The World.” It’s a reboot and all-new adventure for a family of secret agents who must team up to save the world.
In “Armageddon,” Gina Rodriguez, Zachary Levi, Everly Carganilla, and Connor Esterton play the new family of spies, with the kids needing to take down Billy Magnussen‘s game developer who’s obsessed with controlling all the technology in the world.

Here’s an official synopsis of “Spy Kids: Armageddon,” courtesy of Netflix:
When the children of the world’s greatest secret agents unwittingly help a powerful Game Developer unleash a computer virus that gives him control of all technology, they must become spies themselves to save their parents and the world.
The new film also stars D.J. Cotrona and Fabiola Andujar. Along with helming “Armageddon,” Rodriguez also co-pens the script with Racer Max. Rodriguez and Max lead a production team including Elizabeth Avellan, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger through Skydance. Executive producers include Gary Barber and Peter Oillataguerre through Spyglass.
“I’ve heard from so many families telling me how much they’ve enjoyed these films over the course of their lives,” said Rodriguez in a statement released by Netflix. “And now a lot of kids who enjoyed the first films as children are parents themselves and enjoy sharing them with their kids. The Spy Kids franchise was based on my growing up in a family of ten kids with an FBI special agent Uncle. It’s been very exciting for me and my kids to work on this film together as a family, for other families to enjoy.”
“Spy Kids: Armageddon” lands on Netflix on September 22. Watch a trailer for the film below.
