'A Star Is Born' Gets Theatrical Re-Release With New Footage & The Honest Trailer Writes Some Songs Of Its Own

Without a doubt, the most memorable, and possibly only real, “holy shit!” moment from this past Sunday’s Oscars ceremony (other than “Green Book’s” win, of course) was the performance of “Shallow” by “A Star is Born” leads Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga. And while all the recent scuttlebutt around the ol’ social medias is whether or not the duo’s chemistry was a sign of some…extracurricular activities on set, Warner Bros. is building on that buzz by bringing the film back to theaters with even more singing.

According to Deadline, “A Star is Born” is going to bank on its Oscar win for Best Original Song by coming back to theaters with a new “Encore” cut of the film. As you might expect, the film is going to have new footage (approximately 12 minutes worth), with most of it coming in extended versions of songs that were already-featured. There will also be footage of Jackson Maine and Ally working on a new song, “Clover.” Basically, if you liked the music of “A Star is Born” and want to watch it all over again on the big screen, this is probably a ticket you’ll want to buy.

But the Oscars performance and re-release aren’t the only ‘Star’ news making its way around the Internet. The folks over at Screen Junkies trained their satirical eye on the romantic, musical drama for their most recent Honest Trailer. Yes, the ‘Junkies aren’t always known for hitting it out of the park, but this time, the folks really did take it to a new level by not only skewering certain aspects of the film that some find troublesome (the evil British manager trope and, of course, the remake-of-a-remake-of-a-remake-of-a-remake angle), but they also added some Weird Al Yankovic-style parody songs of their own.

That being said, for this writer, the single biggest LOL of the video came from the “Starring…” section with the name “Hanging with Mr. Cooper.” You see, it’s funny because of the ending and because it’s the name of a terrible ‘90s sitcom!

You can watch the whole trailer below. And since we can’t stop watching it ourselves, here’s the Oscars performance (she’s totally going in for a kiss at the end, right? Right?!):
