While “Solo: A Star Wars Story” isn’t one of the premier films in the franchise, most people can agree that Donald Glover’s performance as a young Lando Calrissian is pretty great. And there have been rumors about more Glover in the galaxy far, far away, but no confirmation that it’ll happen. Well, it appears the actor has just confirmed that there are discussions about bringing back his version of Lando in a future project.
Speaking to GQ, while going over the major roles in his career, Donald Glover talked about playing Lando Calrissian in “Solo: A Star Wars Story.” He said that his experience playing Lando was “dope” and that it “was really fun.” But he also teased the possibility of doing more with the character in the future.
“I would love to play Lando again. It’s a fun time to be him,” said Glover. “It just needs to be the right way to do it… I’m not interested in doing anything that is going to be a waste of my time or just a paycheck. I’d much rather be around people that I enjoy. So, it just has to be the right thing, which I think it could be. I mean, Lando is somebody I definitely think I’d like to hang out with.”
He added, “We’re talking about it. That’s as much as I can say without Kathleen Kennedy hunting me down.”

Could this mean that the rumors of a Lando TV show are true? Maybe. Or perhaps we can see Glover show up in a future show in a more supporting role. Hell, at this point, maybe it’s best to give him a film because Lucasfilm seems to be struggling to get films off the ground. Regardless, it does sound like there is a chance we’ll see Glover show up as Lando yet again, and honestly, that’s a good thing. The franchise could probably use him.
The only thing confirmed with Glover attached, at this point, is the upcoming “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” TV series that is coming to Prime Video sometime this year.
