The countdown to “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” is on, and Disney isn’t going to let a day pass over the next couple weeks, without reminding you the film is coming. That means if you’re a couch potato this Thanksgiving weekend, you’re probably going to be blitzed with TV spots. Or you can feel free to use the bathroom between football plays and watch them now.
Of course, there are no actual story details being revealed here, except in the broadest possible strokes. However, don’t expect Kylo Ren to meet this fate in ‘The Last Jedi.’ Director Rian Johnson believes that the character deserves a storyline worthy of all of his dimension.

“There’s a big part of the story yet to be written and not by me,” the director told EW about Kylo Ren’s journey. “But I don’t think it’s very interesting if the whole story is just ‘Will Kylo get his comeuppance?’ He’s a more complicated character than that and I think he deserves a more complicated story than that. I don’t see the point of trying to get behind his mask and learn more about him if all we’re going to learn is ‘Yeah, he’s just an evil bad guy that needs to be killed.’ ”
As for Rey, she’s still figuring out her place in the galaxy.
“She doesn’t really know what she wants,” Daisy Ridley said. “She really is trying to do the right thing and morally, her compass is really pointing north.”
“The Resistance is really not that much to her,” she added. “I mean, she’s been left her whole life, and very quickly is eager to sort of help other people, which is wonderful. She wants to be part of something. I mean, everyone wants to be part of something.”
“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” opens on December 15th.
