‘Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi’ Final Trailer: Latest Animated Jedi Adventure Arrives August 5 On Disney+ & Hulu

Lucasfilm and Production I.G, the acclaimed anime studio behind the original “Ghost In The Shell,” have teamed up for the limited animated streaming series project “Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi,” and the show drops on Wednesday, with the studio revealing the final trailer and a heap of new footage to boot.

“The Ninth Jedi” is directed by Shunsuke Tada (“Kuroko’s Basketball,” “Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These”), written by Mitsuyasu Sakai, and longtime “Ghost In The Shell” franchise alumni Kenji Kamiyama (“The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim,” “Blade Runner: Black Lotus”) serves as supervising director. Executive producers are James Waugh, Jacqui Lopez, Josh Rimes, Justin Leach, and Mitsuhisa Ishikawa; the producers are Hitoshi Ito and Kanako Shirasaki, and the co-producer is Caroline Keller.

The official logline hailing from Lucasfilm:

Picking up not long after the events of the “Visions” shorts, in the new series, Lah Kara continues to train in the ways of the Jedi under Margrave Juro amid an epic journey of self-discovery as she and Juro’s small fellowship of Jedi-in-training embark on a quest to save her father.

The English voice cast consists of Kimiko Glenn (Lah Kara), Andrew Kishino (Juro), Masi Oka (Ethan), Patrick Seitz (Homen), JP Karliak (Gramps), and Simu Liu (Lah Zhima). Neil Kaplan returns to voice The Narrator. New additions feature Feodor Chin (Gennoh), Young Mazino (Nawaam), Chase Sui Wonders (Tafflah), and Keone Young (Kwana). The returning Japanese voice talent includes Chinatsu Akasaki (Lah Kara), Tetsuo Kanao (Juro), Hiromu Mineta (Ethan), Hinata Tadokoro (Homen), Cho (Gramps), and Shinichiro Miki (Lah Zhima). Akio Otsuka also returns to voice The Narrator.
