Brian McBride, one half of the duo that makes up ambient, post-whatever band Stars Of The Lid, has scored the forthcoming documentary, “Vanishing Of The Bees.”
Narrated by Ellen Page, the film follows commercial beekeepers David Hackenberg and Dave Mendes as they struggle to keep up the contracts and keep their hive healthy in the face of drastically declining bee populations all over the world. Shooting in the U.S., Europe, Asia and Australia “Vanishing Of The Bees” investigates the declining numbers of bees and how it will affect both man and nature.
McBride’s soundtrack to the film titled “The Effective Disconnect” will be released on October 25th via Kranky records. As for the film, screenings will kick off on August 21st — National Honeybee Day. Full tracklisting and trailer after the jump. [Exclaim]
