Got a Tip?

Start Studying With The ‘Voyage Of Time’ Educational Guide

Director Terrence Malick’s documentary “Voyage of Time” has earned pretty good reviews so far, with both versions — the IMAX cut, and the longer theatrical edition — screening at Venice and TIFF. A passion project for the director, “Voyage of Time” tells the story of, well, just about everything, as it follows the life and death of a universe. While the feature-length version won’t be coming until next year, the IMAX cut is set to be released soon, and the educational guide for the movie has surfaced. That’s right, Malick wants to educate you, or rather, your children.

Aimed at kids from grades 6 to 8, the guide is filled with great discussion topics, pictures from the film, and plenty of activities for teachers looking to pass a rainy afternoon following a field trip to see the movie. Unlike the feature-length version, which was narrated by Cate Blanchett, Malick collaborator Brad Pitt will narrate the new IMAX version which runs 45 minutes long.

The obvious joke is that maybe Malick should have one of these guides to all of his films, but “Voyage of Time” is a good start. So maybe keep this nearby when you go to see the IMAX cut on October 7th. [The Film Stage]
