Got a Tip?

Steven Yeun & Ali Wong Teaming Up For A New Series From A24

Let’s be honest, at this point, Steven Yeun can do no wrong. That’s what happens when you leave one of the biggest TV series in the world (“The Walking Dead”) and then decide to star in three killer movies back-to-back-to-back (“Sorry to Bother You,” “Burning,” and “Minari,” respectively). And now, it appears he’s ready to head back to TV with a new series co-starring another solid actress, Ali Wong.

According to Deadline, Yeun is set to star in a new series alongside Wong that is being kept under wraps right now. The series comes from creator-writer-showrunner, Lee Sung Jin, and will be produced by none other than A24. The mystery show is said to be comprised of 10 30-minute episodes, and it is being reported that all the major streamers and networks are involved in discussions to snag the show, including Netflix, Apple TV+, Amazon, and FX.

Honestly, even though we have no idea what the premise is, just the fact that names such as Yeun, Wong, and A24 are involved makes this a must-see, no matter what. And though Lee Sung Jin might not be a household name at this point, he’s also a very respectable creator, writing and producing for series such as “Dave,” “Tuca & Bertie,” and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”

As mentioned, Yeun is returning to TV for this series, but this actually doesn’t mark his first time back to a television series since “The Walking Dead.” He’s also the lead for the upcoming superhero animated series, “Invincible.” (And even though I should remain hush-hush, let’s just say he does incredibly well in the show…)

Wong is probably best known for her incredible stand-up career, but she’s also appeared in a number of film and TV projects recently, including the aforementioned “Tuca & Bertie,” as well as “American Housewife” and “Birds of Prey.”

Obviously, it’s still too early to know when and where you are going to be able to check out this series, but you better believe this will be a show that we are following closely.
