Susan Sarandon is set to join the ever-growing big-name cast of Oliver Stone’s “Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps.”
The actress will play the mother of Shia LaBeouf’s protagonist who “falls under the seductive influence” of Michael Douglas’ Gordon Gekko, who just so happens to be the father of LaBeouf’s girlfriend, played by 2009’s greatest success story, Carey Mulligan. Rounding off the cast is real-life-stock-market-fanatic Josh Brolin, who will likely play the hedge fund manager antagonist previously linked to Javier Bardem, but he hasn’t been officially announced. Frank Langella, will play LaBeouf’s mentor.
Penned by Allan Loeb (“21,” “Things We Lost In A Fire”), the film is set to begin shooting this fall. [Variety]
