‘Sweethearts’ Trailer: Kiernan Shipka Stars In Upcoming Max Comedy

High school sweethearts are a very sentimental thing. For a lot of them, it’s the most emotional relationship they’ve ever had. And many of them try to keep the relationship going when they go off to different colleges. But as seen in the new trailer for “Sweethearts,” that doesn’t always work out.

“Sweethearts” tells the story of two best friends who are freshman in college. They begin to realize their high school sweethearts back home are making it impossible for them to enjoy college life. So, they make a pact to end the relationships during Thanksgiving break. Since this is a raunchy comedy, that’s when the hilarity ensues.

The film stars Kiernan Shipka, Nico Hiraga, Caleb Hearon, Tramell Tillman, Ava Demary, Charlie Hall, Joel Kim Booster, and Christine Taylor. “Sweethearts” marks the feature directorial debut of Jordan Weiss, who co-wrote the film alongside Dan Brier.

“Sweethearts” debuts on Max on November 28. You can watch the trailer below.

Here’s the synopsis:

Two college freshmen make a pact to break up with their high school sweethearts over Thanksgiving break, leading them on a chaotic night out in their hometown that puts their codependent friendship to the test.
